The Waverley Bridge Club prides itself on upholding a strong culture built on respect, integrity, and community. Through its Code of Conduct and Club Endeavour, the club is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment where players of all levels feel valued and encouraged. Members are expected to engage with courtesy and sportsmanship—respecting partners, opponents, and Directors—while contributing to a positive and inclusive atmosphere both at and away from the table .

At its core, the club strives to foster camaraderie, develop players’ skills, and ensure the game remains enjoyable for everyone. By operating with professionalism and integrity, and by encouraging friendly interaction and mutual respect, Waverley Bridge Club continues to be a community where meaningful connections are formed and a shared passion for bridge thrives

Code Of Conduct

  • Value your partner 
  • Greet and thank your opponents appropriately 
  • Be polite to other club attendees 
  • Introduce yourself to people you do not know 
  • Encourage novice players and welcome guests 
  • Explain your system clearly and simply 
  • Acknowledge good play by your opponents 
  • Respect your Directors 
  • Accept different ways of thinking 
  • Refrain from using negative gestures or offering gratuitous advice 
  • Call the Director if rude, bad or unethical behaviour occurs
  • Abide by the rules of WBC and the ABF
