Beginner Lessons
Waverley Bridge Club offers learning opportunities for players to improve their skills and gain confidence in playing duplicate bridge. After completing the beginners’ course, players move on to Supervised Lessons to practice and enhance their bidding and play techniques. Followed by Supervised Duplicate, which introduces the game’s mechanics and etiquette. Improvers lessons and free clinics are also available to extend your knowledge and keep up with changes in the game.

Beginners Classes – 2026
We’re excited to announce that our first set of beginners classes for 2026 has now been confirmed!
As with last year, we are offering three different session times to suit everyone’s needs:
Tuesday 10:00am – starting 3rd February 2026
Thursday 6:30pm – starting 5th February 2026
Saturday 10:00am – starting 7th February 2026
Each week covers the same material, so if you need to swap to a different day in any given week, you’ll be able to do so.
For 2026, we’ve created a brand-new learning structure designed to help you move into playing duplicate bridge even earlier. The course will run for 8 consecutive weeks, and all learning materials will be provided to you in Week 1, so you can catch up on anything missed or study further at your own pace.
As part of the course, you will also receive:
2 complimentary vouchers (valued at $40) to use at the club once you’re ready for supervised bridge.
A name badge and folder with all study materials to refer back to at any time.
Teaching delivered by Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) accredited teachers.
The full course cost is $160 – only $20 per session – making it a very affordable way to learn the brilliant game of bridge.
